While it took a little longer than I'd hoped, I was able to get Chris & Hilda's slideshow put together and ready for viewing this week. This has been an adventure for me because I've never done anything like this before. Yes, I have put together slideshow videos. And yes, I've also added some motion to the videos. What I haven't done before is edited the slideshow myself (I've used software that just automagically pops out awesome videos) and the snippets of video I've included were brief, and not very well done.
I went to Chris & Hilda's wedding with a lot of great ideas, and very little experience on which to rely. As you may expect, about half the stuff I tried to do failed miserably. Like it or not, at this point I'm a still photographer who is fighting tooth & nail to learn video production, and there's little doubt to that. I've learned from hard experience that you don't promise something you aren't sure you can deliver, so I never mentioned video or sound to either Chris or Hilda until I showed and mic'd Chris for the ceremony. That mic did an excellent job of picking up the officiant... and wind... and nothing else.
