I met Anthony at his office in the Financial District of Manhattan on a rather toasty afternoon. The day was warm, but a cold front was making its way toward NYC, and by nightfall temperatures would be about 30 degrees lower than when we started the shoot. As you might guess, that led to some wind. As I was setting up my background and lights, the building was swaying and creaking. More than once I looked around kinda freaked out, only to hear Anthony say “It’s fine, it does this all the time.” As we were just about to start, another loud creak and a pop somewhere in the building, and Anthony quickly says “Okay… that’s new. Never heard that before. But it’s fine.”
As you’ve no doubt guessed, it was fine. We spent about 90 minutes going through various looks and poses to get some good headshots of Anthony, as well as an end of shoot cutesie photo with his boyfriend Josh.
All in all, it was a great day. I learned new things (like buildings pop when they get bent too much) and we got some great photos of Anthony (and Josh!) that their mamas will be proud of.
